General Information
Expanded graphite is one of the best asbestos-free alternatives to seals for gases and fluids. It is a high performance sealing material at high and low temperatures, even in contact with extremely corrosive chemical agents. It retains all of its properties at high temperatures of up to 450 ºC and is particularly resistant to changes in temperature. The stainless steel in the sheeting increases its mechanical resistance and service pressure, in addition to making it easier to handle.
Temperature
- 200ºC + 450ºC
Density
1,00 gr/cm3
Properties
- High mechanical resistance
- High resistance to most chemical agents
- Resists high temperatures
- High performance sealing at high and low temperatures
Applications
Graphite sheeting is used for sealing gases and fluids when high thermal and electrical conductivity and good chemical resistance are required. The graphite tape is used in the manufacture of cast flanges and seal gaskets. It is an ideal material for all pumps and valves that work between cryogenic and high temperatures in a wide range of industries, including the production of energy, petroleum, chemical products, food, drinks and pharmaceutical products.
