General Information

This is a thermoplastic material with a semi-crystalline structure and high resistance to abrasion and impact. Polyamide has very good mechanical properties. Due to its specific low weight, it is commonly used to substitute bronze, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. It can absorb up to 8% water (by weight) under humidity or submerged in water. This increases its excellent resistance to shock and vibration but can also lead to dimensional changes.

Properties
  • High water absorption rate
  • Excellent sliding properties (on POM and steel) but not in the case of PA on PA
  • High mechanical strenght
  • Good resistance to abrasion and impact
  • High degree of elasticity
  • Good resistance to machine oils and hydrocarbons but not to acids
