General Information
PVDF is a semi-crystalline industrial thermoplastic can be melt processed. It has good chemical and thermal resistance (although not as good as PTFE), as well as good abrasion and radiation resistance. It is slightly more rigid and harder than most fluoropolymers( melt-processable), but shows dielectric losses. It can be injection-moulded.
Temperature
-60ºC +150ºC
Density
1,78 gr/cm3
Properties
- Excellent chemical resistance
- Higher mechanical resistance than PTFE
- Good dimensional stability (similar to POM)
- Excellent resistance to UV radiation
- Resistance to corrosion
- Physiologically inert
- Low flammability
Applications
It is used to make components in pumps, gears, pipes and fittings, tanks ( particularly in the Chemical Industry), bearings, cable insulation, etc
