LATEX General Information

Latex is the natural elastomer par excellence. It has a high degree of elasticity and compression. It is an anti-abrasive rubber that has excellent mechanical and fatigue properties. It is highly suited for use in applications requiring elasticity, anti-shock properties or in environments where there is abrasion. It is highly resistant to alkalis but is damaged by oils, greases and solvents.

Temperature

-15 + 80 ºC

Density

1,28 gr/cm3

Hardness

45 SH

Main properties
  • Good rebound properties
  • Excellent resistance to sandy and abrasive materials
  • Good elasticity and shock-absorbing properties
Applications

There are countless industrial uses due to its excellent performance in terms of stress-stretching. Furthermore, latex tube has a number of uses in medicine as it is a non-toxic material that can be sterilised. It is therefore used for drainage procedures and connecting surgical equipment, amongst other things.

NEOPRENE CR General Information

Neoprene is the trade name given to polymers made up of chloroprene. Its excellent ageing properties when exposed to ozone and atmospheric agents, in addition to its good resistance to abrasion and bending, have resulted in its being used as an all-purpose rubber. Neoprene is resistant to acids and alkalis, is flame retardant and suitable for use with petroleum-based oils. It is characterised by good resistance to bending, excellent resistance to fatigue and strong resistance to outdoor weather conditions and ozone.

Temperature

-35 + 105 ºC

Density

1,60 gr/cm3

Hardness

70 SH

Main properties
  • Good resistance to fatigue
  • Good resistance to bending and abrasion
  • Good resistance to outdoor conditions
  • Suitable for use in contact with oils and fats
Applications

Neoprene tube is suitable for the discharge of products that are subject to wear both through abrasion and temperature. It is suitable for use with petroleum-based oils.

NBR General Information

NBR is a copolymer of acrylonitrile butadiene, a synthetic rubber with excellent resistance to hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, transmission fluids and other non-polar petroleum-based products. It is also resistant to atmospheric agents and water. In contrast, it has poor resistance to acetone, hydrocarbons and chlorine. It has good mechanical resistance. It has good mechanical resistance properties.

Temperature

-35 + 105 ºC

Density

1,50 gr/cm3

Hardness

65 SH

Main properties
  • Excellent resistance to oils, lubricants and greasesç
  • Good resistance to atmospheric agents
  • Moderate resistance to ageing
Applications

NBR tube is used in environments in which attack from oils, greases, hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids, etc. must be prevented.

EPDM General Information

EPDM rubber is extremely resistant to heat, water, vapour, ozone and UV rays (colour stability), as well as having very good properties of flexibility at low temperatures. Its unsurpassable behaviour against ageing and weathering agents makes it suitable for long-term use outdoors. EPDM is likewise extremely suitable for use with hot water and steam. It is particularly suited for working with brake fluids at high temperatures. It has excellent electrical properties and stability in radiation. It is resistant to mineral acids, alcohol, detergents and other chemical agents, even at high temperatures. It shows reasonable resistance to fireproof hydraulic fluids, ketones and alkalis. It exhibits unsatisfactory compatibility with most oils, gasoline, kerosene, aromatic hydrocarbons and concentrated acids.

Temperature

-15 + 130 ºC

Density

1,40 gr/cm3

Hardness

65 SH

Main properties
  • Excellent resistance to exposure and weathering agents.
  • Good electrical resistance properties
  • Slow rebound in comparison with neoprene and SBR.
  • Great resistance to ozone.
Applications

EPDM tube is particularly suitable for use in contact with hot water and steam. The polymeric structure of EPDM makes it exceptionally compatible with fluids and solvents at polar and high temperatures.

SILICONE General Information

Silicone is a rubber that is extraordinarily stable at extreme temperatures and retains excellent flexibility at low temperatures. It is also highly resistant to compression, sunlight, ozone, oxygen and humidity. Due to its inert characteristics, it is widely used in medical, pharmaceutical and food applications as it leaves no trace of smell or taste. Silicone can be formulated to be electrically resistive or conductive, or flame retardant. Low temperatures do not cause stiffness or solidification. It is not attacked by most oils and greases. It has good resistance to chemical products in general. Silicone rubbers are the best form of electrical insulation within a temperature range of -40 ºC to +200 ºC.

Temperature

-40+200ºC

Density

1,30 gr/cm3

Hardness

60 SH

Main properties
  • Excellent resistance to temperatures
  • Good resistance to chemical products
  • Excellent resistance to compression
  • Good flexibility at low temperatures
Applications

Transparent silicone tube is particularly common for fluid handling processes when it is necessary to see the type of fluid flowing inside it. It is extraordinarily stable under heat conditions and has high resistance to chemical products in general.
