General Information
PTFE is a polymer which has a structure MADE UP OF of long carbon chains saturated of fluorine. PTFE is a material that is practically inert material that does not react with chemical except in very special situations. This is basically due to the protection given by the fluorine atoms on the carbon chain. This lack of reactivity makes it a prectically non-toxic material and it is in fact the material with the lowest known coefficient of friction. A further characteristic is its impermeability, while maintaining its qualities in wet environments. It has also excellent dielectric properties. It is not altered by the action of light and is able to withstand temperatures from -200 ° C. up to 260 ° C and even higher in short periods.
