PTFE General Information

Thin wall tube of PTFE has high chemical resistance. PTFE has a structure made up of long carbon chains saturated with fluorine. PTFE is a practically inert material that does not react with other substances except in very special circumstances. This is basically due to the protection given by the fluorine atoms on the carbon chain. This lack of reactivity makes it a practically non-toxic material and it is in fact the material with the lowest known coefficient of friction. A further characteristic is that it is waterproof, while maintaining its qualities in wet environment. It has also excellent dielectric properties. It is not altered by the action of light and is able to withstand temperatures from -200 up to 260ºC and even higher.

Temperature

- 200º C + 260ºC

Main properties
  • Non-stick
  • Excellent dielectric properties
  • Non-falmmable
  • Resistant to most corrosive chemicals
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Physiologically inert
Applications
  • Handling of chemical and food products.
  • Fluid handling in medical and scientific equipment.
  • Heat exchangers

PVC FLEXIBLE TUBE General Information

PVC is a thermoplastic with an amorphous structure that stands out for its resistance to chemical agents and its excellent mechanical properties. It has excellent chemical stability and extremely high resistance to fire (self-extinguishing). It has notable resistance to diluted and concentrated acids. It is also a good electrical insulator. It absorbs little water.

Temperature

- 10ºC + 60ºC

Main properties
  • High chemical resistance
  • Good dielectric properties
  • Good behaviour in corrosive environments
  • Self-extinguishing
Applications

It is used for handling liquids and fluids in laboratories, industrial machinery, etc. that require that fluid passing through the tube to be seen. It is used for levels in building as well as for medical applications.

POLYETHYLENE PIPING General Information

Thin wall tube of polyethylene. Polyethylene is a thermoplastic with a semi-crystalline structure noted for its great resistance to impact, torque and stress. It resists abrasion, chemical agents and caustic solutions well. It has high electrical properties and exceptional mechanical properties. Polyethylene thin wall tube is light, inert to the harmful effects of water and to abrasion. It is very flexible and easy to handle. Suitable for food and inert chemicals.

Temperature

-40ºC + 80ºC

Main properties
  • Homologated for contact with food (FDA)
  • Physiologically inert
  • High resistance to chemical agents
  • Electrical insulator
  • Resistant to abrasion
  • Lightweight
Applications

Polyethylene thin wall tube is particularly suitable for hot and cold water pipes, diffusers. aerosols and dispensers. It is also used for insulation linings, car covers and to make bearings. It is likewise used for covers and guards for medical and surgical equipment.
